What happens when one parent decides to leave?
.................. What happens when one parent is taken away?
........................ What happens when that parent is a father?
The Legacy Foundation realizes the deep and resounding affect of losing the presence of a father in the home and in the life of a child.
The dark, painful, and lonely moments often are replaced by the dreams of a man or the stories from a mother. This missing individual in the stands of a sporting event or piano recital are memories that become cemented in the essence of a son or daughter.
Kids can do a lot of things for themselves, but they also need someone to take care of them – they need a Dad and so do their families. For certain kids, when neither of these are present, foster families and foster homes fulfill these roles.
The word "foster" means to help someone (or something) grow and develop. It also means to take care of someone's needs. Needs such as a house, a place to sleep, nutritious food to eat, clothes to wear, and toys to play with. Kids also need someone who will take them to the doctor and dentist, make sure they get a bath, and get them up in the morning so they get to school.
The Legacy Foundation is dedicated to being there through these extremely difficult times in the lives of children. With aggressive program creation, education, and training, our goal is to ensure the continued development of improved relationships with fathers and their families and most importantly their offspring.
When these efforts are not enough, the Legacy Foundation will also lend its support to foster homes and act as an extended family to children in need.
